We are delighted to announce that Monami Construction has been awarded first place in the “Fitout or Refurbishment over €5 million” category at the prestigious ICE Awards 2025.

This honour recognises the exceptional work carried out on the Technological University of the Shannon – Coonagh Cross Campus Fit Out project. Monami are pleased to announce a major milestone in the delivery of our latest project in Galway City, with the topping out of the Queen Street Student Accommodation development now successfully achieved. This marks a significant step forward in the construction of what will be one of Galway’s most modern and sustainable purpose-built student residences with completion expected in 2026.

Ideally located near Galway’s bus and train stations and just a 15-minute walk from the University of Galway, the eight-storey development will provide high-quality accommodation for 345 students and designed to meet the highest ESG standards, with a strong focus on student well-being and sustainability.

Amenities will include common study areas, a cinema room, gym/studio, wellness hub, bicycle storage, a 24/7 reception, and landscaped rooftop terraces. Additional facilities such as a student lounge, parcel room, laundry, and internal communal spaces will enhance the living experience.

This development reflects our ongoing commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable living spaces that enhance the student experience while contributing to Galway’s urban renewal.

With the structure now topped out, we are excited to enter the next phase of the project and continue progressing toward our 2026 completion target.
